A villa owner in Riyadh looking for a renovation contractor, a facilities manager shortlisting MEP subcontractors, and a main contractor checking a finishing company all do the same thing before they call: they look you up. In Saudi Arabia that check can now go beyond your Instagram page to your registration and classification, because both can be verified online.
This guide is for contracting, renovation, fit-out and MEP companies in Riyadh and across the Kingdom. It covers which credentials to put on your website, how to make them easy to verify, and how to turn a visitor who trusts you into a quote request.
The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) is the body contractors register with. A 2025 licensing guide published on Mondaq describes SCA registration as mandatory for any entity that intends to carry out construction-related work, and notes that it is needed to bid in public tenders. The SCA membership page lists membership types grouped by activity, from building construction to electrical installation.
If you are a member, say so on your website in plain words, with your membership type. It is one of the first things a commercial client will ask about.
Classification is a separate step. The Muqawil platform's classification page describes it as a technical assessment of an establishment's capabilities based on its workforce, reviewed by the SCA, which approves a technical grade for each field you apply for. Requests go through the Balady and Muqawil platforms, and engineers and technicians must be registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
Your grade and fields tell a client what size and type of work you are qualified for. A company classified for electrical works should say so on its electrical page, not only in a PDF profile.
Balady offers a classification and qualification certificate verification service. A client can search by certificate number, contractor name or Unified National Number, or by classification type, field and city. That changes how you should present your credentials: show the details someone needs to check you, and invite them to do it.
Never upgrade your grade or add fields you do not hold. Because verification takes a minute, a wrong claim is easy to catch, and it can cost you a tender as well as a client.
"General contracting, renovation, MEP, fit-out, maintenance" on one page tells Google and the visitor very little. Build separate pages for the services that bring you the most valuable work, for example villa renovation, office fit-out, electrical works, plumbing and drainage, and annual maintenance contracts. Each page needs your own photos, what the job includes, the client types you serve, and a quote button.
For each project give the type (villa, warehouse, showroom), the district or city, your scope, and the duration. Use photos you took yourself. If a client or consultant has not agreed to be named, describe the project without their name; a clear scope and good photos still do the job.
Homeowners in Riyadh often search in Arabic, while procurement teams and expat-run firms may search in English. A proper Arabic version, written for Saudi readers rather than machine-translated, reaches both. Our contracting and renovation website page for Saudi Arabia shows how we lay out a bilingual contractor site.
Many contractors only have a heavy PDF profile that is sent on WhatsApp. Put the same content on a web page as well: credentials, services, key people, equipment, safety approach and selected projects. It can be found on Google, opens on any phone, and is always the latest version. Keep the PDF as a download from that page.
Search terms that bring paying work are usually a service plus a place: "villa renovation Riyadh", "fit-out company Riyadh", "شركة مقاولات بالرياض". Put the main phrase in your page title, the first paragraph and the heading, and write the rest naturally.
Your Google Business Profile matters as much as the website. Google's own help page on improving local ranking names relevance, distance and prominence, and says prominence draws on information such as how many websites link to your business and how many reviews you have. Link the profile to your website, ask satisfied clients for reviews, and keep your name and phone number identical everywhere. Our earlier post on Google Business Profile and your website in Riyadh walks through the setup.
Once a visitor believes you are qualified, the next step should take seconds. Put a WhatsApp button on every page and a short quote form on each service page that asks for the job type, property type, district and a phone number. On a Passive Coder site the form opens with the service the visitor came from already selected, so your team knows whether it is a fit-out or a plumbing job before replying. Enquiries arrive ready for a one-tap WhatsApp reply.
Commercial clients also like to see how you work: site visit, quotation, approval, schedule, handover. A short "How we work" section on the home page answers that without a phone call.
Yes. Your Commercial Registration number and legal name are basic proof that you are a real, registered company, and clients use them to check you. Put them in the footer and on your licences page.
State your membership and leave classification out until you have it. Do not write "classified" or imply a grade. You can add it the day your certificate is issued.
If you only work for English-speaking companies, an English site can work. For residential and local commercial work in Riyadh, an Arabic version usually widens the enquiries you receive, because many owners search in Arabic.
With Passive Coder, a site with your service pages, credentials and quote forms can go live in one day once we have your content. You pay once, and hosting and your domain are included for the first year. See pricing, or visit our Saudi Arabia page.
