Hi! How can we help you today?

If you run a cleaning company, a technical services firm or a salon in Dubai, you have probably asked three agencies for a quote and received three very different numbers. One says AED 999, another says AED 2,900, a third will not give a price until after a "discovery call". This guide explains where those numbers come from, what is usually missing from them, and how to compare quotes properly before you pay anyone.

The short answer: AED 999 to AED 9,500 for most small businesses

Dubai agencies that publish their prices cluster in a fairly narrow band for a small service-business website. A few public examples, checked in October 2026:

  • Control Shift lists a starter package from AED 499 and a business website from AED 1,499, and shows 5% VAT on top in its examples.
  • The Web Makers lists a 5-page static site at AED 999, a WordPress site of up to 6 pages at AED 2,500, and an optional care plan at AED 299 a month.
  • DXB Web Designer starts at AED 2,900 for a starter site, AED 5,900 for a growth site and AED 9,500 for a build with booking or e-commerce.

So a realistic range for a 5 to 10 page site for a local service company is roughly AED 1,000 to AED 3,500 at the affordable end, and AED 5,000 to AED 10,000 once you add booking, an online shop or a lot of custom design.

What the headline price often leaves out

The build price is only part of the bill. Before you compare quotes, ask each agency in writing whether these are included:

Hosting and domain

Many Dubai quotes cover design and build only. Hosting, the SSL certificate and the domain are billed separately, often from the first day and almost always from year two. If the quote does not mention hosting, assume it is extra.

VAT

The UAE charges VAT at 5% (see the Federal Tax Authority). Some agencies show prices before VAT and add it on the invoice. On a AED 2,500 site that is another AED 125, so check which figure you are comparing.

Changes after launch

Your phone number changes, you add a new service area, you want to put up an Eid offer. With many WordPress builds, every one of those is a paid ticket or a monthly retainer. Ask how changes are handled and what they cost.

Arabic version

A bilingual English and Arabic site is common in the UAE, but it is frequently priced as an add-on. If Arabic-speaking customers matter to you, get the Arabic pages priced up front.

Timeline

Two to four weeks is a common agency timeline. If you need to be online before a trade licence renewal, a new branch opening or a seasonal rush, the delivery date matters as much as the price.

How to work out your real cost for year one and year two

Put every quote into the same simple sum:

  1. Build price, including VAT.
  2. Hosting, SSL and domain for 12 months.
  3. Maintenance or care for 12 months, if you will need changes (most businesses do).
  4. Year two: hosting, domain and maintenance again, without the build.

A site that looks cheap at AED 999 can cost more over two years than a AED 2,500 site that already includes hosting, the domain and a few edits each month. The comparison that matters is the two-year total, not the first invoice.

What a small business website in Dubai actually needs

For a local service company, the goal of the website is simple: turn a Google search into a phone call or a WhatsApp message. That needs fewer features than most proposals include:

  • A clear home page that says what you do, which areas you cover (Dubai Marina, JLT, Al Barsha, Deira, Sharjah, and so on) and how to contact you.
  • One page per main service, because people search for the service ("deep cleaning Dubai", "AC repair JVC"), not for your company name.
  • A WhatsApp button and a click-to-call button on every page, visible on a phone without scrolling.
  • Your Google Business Profile linked from the site and the site linked from the profile.
  • Real photos of your team and work, not stock images of other people's projects.
  • Fast loading on mobile. Most local searches in Dubai happen on a phone.

Anything beyond that, such as a blog, an online shop or a booking calendar, is worth adding only when you know it will be used.

Where Passive Coder fits

We publish our UAE prices on the UAE page. A one-time build is AED 1,099 (Basic, up to 6 pages), AED 2,199 (Pro, 15 pages built by us) or AED 4,399 (Business, 30 pages built), plus 5% VAT. The first year of hosting, SSL, backups and the domain is included in that price. Most sites are live within a day of us receiving your logo, photos and service list.

From year two you either renew the platform (AED 729, 1,099 or 1,799 a year depending on the package) or stay on a Care plan, which already includes hosting and the domain. Care in the UAE is AED 149, 249 or 449 a month, and the details of what each tier covers are on the Care plans page. Every build comes with some free months of Care, so you can see how it works before deciding.

The practical difference for most owners is not the stack behind it, it is that there are no plugins to break after an update and one team answers your change requests on WhatsApp. If you want to see the numbers for your exact case, the pricing page shows every package side by side, and our cleaning company website page for Dubai shows what a typical service-business setup looks like.

Frequently asked questions

Is a AED 500 website worth it?

It can be, if it is a single landing page and you understand exactly what is included. Check whether hosting, the domain and any changes after launch are extra, and whether you will own the domain in your own name.

Do I need a trade licence to have a website in the UAE?

You do not need a licence to publish a website, but you should only advertise services your licence covers, and some payment providers and directories will ask for licence details. Your licence name and number in the footer also builds trust.

How long does it take to build a small business website in Dubai?

Agency timelines are commonly two to four weeks. A template-based site with your content ready can be live much faster; with us most sites go live within a day of receiving the content.

Should my website be in Arabic and English?

If a meaningful share of your customers search in Arabic, yes. At minimum, your service pages and contact details should exist in both languages, written properly rather than machine translated.
