When a facility manager in Business Bay needs a DB board replaced, or a villa owner in Sharjah has a leaking concealed pipe, they search Google with a trade and a place: "MEP contractor Dubai", "electrical contractor Al Barsha", "plumbing company Sharjah". The MEP firms that win those searches are not always the biggest. They are the ones whose website and Google Business Profile clearly say what they do and where they do it.
This guide is for MEP, electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractors in the UAE who want more of those searches to end in a WhatsApp message to them.
Google explains its local ranking in three factors: relevance (how well a profile matches the search), distance (how far the business is from the searcher) and prominence (how well-known the business is). You cannot move your office closer to every customer, so for a contractor the work is mostly on relevance and prominence, and your website feeds both.
"MEP" is how the industry talks. Many customers search for the specific job. A single "Our Services" page listing electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire fighting in four bullet points gives Google very little to match.
Build one page for each trade you actually deliver:
Each page should say who it is for (villa owners, building management, main contractors), what the job includes, which emirates you cover, and show two or three real projects of that type. End each page with a quote button that already knows the service. On a Passive Coder site the quote form pre-fills the service the visitor came from, so the WhatsApp message you receive starts with "HVAC: chiller maintenance" instead of "Hi, need info".
It is tempting to create "MEP contractor Dubai", "MEP contractor Abu Dhabi", "MEP contractor Ras Al Khaimah" and so on, all with the same text and the city name swapped. Do not. Those pages add nothing for the customer and rarely rank.
A location page earns its place when it has something only that location has:
If you only have real work in Dubai and Sharjah, build two strong location pages and stop there. Add Abu Dhabi when you have Abu Dhabi projects to show.
Most MEP contractors work at the client's site, which makes them a service-area business in Google's terms. Google's guidelines for representing your business are specific here, and breaking them is a common reason profiles get suspended:
Link your profile to the matching page on your website, not just the home page. If your profile's main category is electrician, link it to your electrical works page.
Many facility and property managers in the UAE work in English, and many villa owners and government-linked clients prefer Arabic. You do not need to translate every page on day one. Start with Arabic versions of your home page and your two strongest service pages, written properly rather than machine-translated word for word. Make sure the WhatsApp button and quote form work in both languages.
Project pages are where MEP firms beat generic handyman sites. A good project entry has:
For reviews, ask at handover, when the client is happiest, and send a direct review link on WhatsApp. Google notes that replying to reviews shows you value feedback, so reply to every one, briefly and by name of the job, never with a copied template.
Agency quotes in Dubai vary a lot, as we covered in how much a website costs in Dubai. A Passive Coder site for a UAE contractor starts at AED 1,099 one-time plus 5% VAT, with hosting and domain included for the first year, and goes live in a day once we have your logo, photos and services. See our plumbing company websites and technical services websites for the UAE, or the full pricing.
Only if you have a real, staffed office in each. Google's guidelines say a service-area business should have one profile for its central office with a service area, and that rented mailing addresses do not qualify.
Only if it is part of your real, registered business name used on your licence, signage and documents. Adding service or location keywords to the name is against Google's guidelines.
One for each trade you actually deliver, usually four to six. Each should have its own projects and its own quote button.
Not on every page at first. Arabic versions of the home page and main service pages cover most clients who prefer Arabic.
